We are Cyprus’ Original Chocolate Makers, the only Cypriot brand that produces craft chocolate, from stage zero (bean to bar). Since 1989 when we first launched Choco King. we produce craft chocolate from stage zero and we have fully control of the final flavor and texture of our products. We source premium quality cocoa beans and cocoa butter from selective farms in the Ivory Coast and Ghana. Our final products are unique with high contents of cocoa solids

What is craft chocolate

Craft Chocolate is the definition used to describe a chocolate that is made from stage zero. We start with the best ingredients, sourcing ethically worldwide. We choose to work with specific farms in Ghana and the Ivory Coast that source us with high quality Cocoa and Cocoa Butter : the two main ingredients to produce high quality chocolate. Unlike other chocolate brands that use chocolate couvertures to create their chocolate products, we chose to create our own, making us Cyprus' Original Chocolate Makers.

The process to create craft chocolate takes three whole days in specialized conche - refiner machines. Choco King has created three main chocolate recipes : RECIPE NO. D101 - Dark Chocolate 70% Cocoa, RECIPE NO. M101 - Milk Chocolate 40% Cocoa and RECIPE NO. W101 - White Chocolate 35% Cocoa. These chocolates are used to create all of Choco King premium products. The percentage (%) of Cocoa of each chocolate shows the percentage of cocoa solids (cocoa mass and cocoa butter), identifying them as original chocolates and in high content of cocoa solids.

After graduating Helsinki University in 1983 on Bachelor and Master's degrees in food technology, Stavros Soteriou went on to work for well known chocolate brands like Marabou Helnöt (Sweden), Karl Fazer (Finland), Barry - Callebaut (Belgium) because of his passion for chocolates. His deep knowledge on food sciences and his experience with working with well known chocolate factories helped him understand better the science behind craft chocolate and what it takes to innovate it. With many courses attended in more than 15 countries and legendary chocolate brands like Valrhona - France, Stavros Soteriou created the Choco King brand in 1989 because he wanted to establish an original Cypriot chocolate brand.

His experience in craft chocolate making helped him choose carefully the raw materials we use to create our own craft chocolates, as well as pralines and chocolate spreads. Choco King’s product range varies from small shaped filled chocolates, chocolate Bonbons, special occasions chocolate treats, chocolate spreads, cuvertures, luxury gift boxes, seasonal items, chocolate desserts and cakes. The authentic recipes of our chocolates have helped us create our unique flavors of artisanal high quality chocoalates.

Today, the top quality of the raw materials used, the education and experience of the staff and the quality system implemented, guarantee the high quality of all Choco King’s products.
